How to apply

Surface Preparation: All surfaces should be between 60° F(15°C) and 90° F(32°C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, laitance, concrete sealers or curing compounds. Check the surface to be true to plumb. All slabs must be plumb and true to within ¼” (6mm) in 10 ft (3m). Rough or uneven concrete surfaces should be made smooth with LATICRETE® Screed/Plaster material to provide a wood float (or better) finish. Dry, dusty concrete slabs or masonry should be dampened, and excess water swept off. New concrete slabs shall be damp cured and 28 days old before application. Expansion joints shall be provided through the structural work from all construction or expansion joints in the substrate. Do not cover expansion joints with 3DCP mortar. Follow ANSI Specification AN-3.8 “Requirements for Expansion Joints” or TCA Detail EJ171 “Expansion Joints”. NOTES: Cold Joints: For dried printed surfaces, new mortar can be placed over after treating the surfaces with a bond coat made from LATICRETE® 254 Platinum slurry (mixed with 8 to 9 Litres of water) with a brush or roller ensuring complete coverage without any gaps. While the slurry bond coat is still wet, place the next layer of 3DCP M60 printing mortar. Continue to print subsequent layers as required. Mixing: MYK LATICRETE 3DCP M30 Place clean, potable water into a clean mixer drum. Add MYK LATICRETE 3DCP M60 powder into the mixing bowl. Use approximately 9 – 10 L of water for 50 kg of powder. Mix by hand or with a slow speed mixer to a smooth, trowelable consistency. Adjust consistency if necessary. Keep mixing ensuring homogeneous mixture for pumping. APPLICATION: The mixing and pumping should be carried out by a system that is able to mix the material homogenously at the prescribed water powder ratio and subsequently pump the material to the extruder at the printer head. The delivery time should not exceed the open time of the mixed material. Print speed should be adjusted as needed and filament height to width ratio has to be decided based on the application being done at the site. Cleaning: Uncured mortar is washable with water to flush out the pump and printer system. Follow printer equipment instructions for cleaning and making it ready for next application. NOTE TO THE SPECIFIER AND INSTALLER: Curing is not necessary for the printed mortar in the given temperature and humidity conditions. If the site temperature is high beyond the specified range, light curing for 5 to 7 days may be necessary.
